14 Surprising Ways to Make Your Hair Thicker

Let’s face it the world is in love with thick hair. Everyone wants a head full of flowing, thick locks. The world is looking for ways to increase hair length and to grow hair faster and longer. Thick hair is the craze of contemporary man. But what if you are born with thin hair that lies flat? You have a lot of it but it’s still thin and flat. Are there remedies out there to make your hair thicker or look thicker?  What if your hair is thinning and you are going bald?

These are very real concerns for people today. We put so much value in having a set of thick hair. Our perception of our appearance, emotional well-being, and sometimes our self-confidence is tied into how much hair we have. Especially, women they want to have nice, long thick flowing hair. Many people become depressed or overly sensitive when they lose their hair. Is there any solutions for these widespread problems? Yes, there is and we will look at some of those solutions in this article. So read on! Hopefully, you will find some real time solutions to help you in the quest for thicker hair.

Some common causes for thinning hair are too much physical or emotional stress,poor diet, hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, pollution, genetics, wrong hair care products and maintaining a poor hair care routine. Eggs will bring thicker Hair

You would think it to be strange to put eggs in your hair. Yes, it would cause create a mess in your scalp and in your hair. But the reality is eggs are a good method for promoting thicker hair because eggs are high in protein. You see protein is essential for building stronger and thicker hair. You need to employee protein in your quest for thicker hair.

Here’s how you use the egg treatment for thicker hair: Beat one or two eggs (depending on the length of your hair) and apply the egg to wet hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. Now, shampoo your hair with lukewarm water. Repeat this process once or twice a week. Or you can mix one egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of hair oil and two tablespoons of water. Thoroughly massage your scalp with this solution. Rinse out and repeat this process once a week and you will enjoy thicker hair.  

Multiply your Hair with Olive Oil

Olive oil will add body to your hair and it will soften hair as well. Get some warm olive oil and massage your scalp with it. Leave the solution in your hair for 30 to 45 minutes. Rinse the mixture out of your hair thoroughly with a mild shampoo. Or you can leave the oil in your hair overnight until the next morning. Then shampoo it out of your hair.

Or you can opt to mix olive oil with honey and then massage this mixture deeply into your hair.  Leave it in your hair for 30 minutes and then wash it out. Leaving this solution in your hair for these 30 minute segments will guarantee you will have thicker hair. Use either of these treatments once or twice a week.

Don’t Eat That Avocado

Get an avocado but not for eating. As good as they taste they also do a noteworthy job of thickening hair. Avocados add body to your hair and moisturize it. The result will be thicker,healthier hair. It also has vitamin E that which contributes to the overall health of hair shaft.

Start mashing, that’s right mashing. You will want to mash one avocado and one banana mixing these fruits in with one tablespoon of olive oil. This is a strange sounding mix but it will pay off. Massage the fruit mixture into your scalp and leave it there for 30 minutes. You will want to allow the nutrients to absorb into the scalp. The next step is to rinse your hair then wash it with shampoo.     

If you don’t like the above option then try this one. Make a hydrating mask by mixing two tablespoons of wheat germ oil with one ½  ripe mashed avocado. Apply this hair mask to freshly shampooed hair. Let the mask sit in your hair for 20 minutes. Now, rinse your hair and shampoo it a second time. Use either one of these avocado masks once a week.

Get those Fenugreek Seeds to Thicken your Hair

Fenu what seeds? Yes, fenugreek seeds not only do they help provide you with thicker hair but they also prevent hair loss and make the hair grow faster. Some good benefits to be had with these seeds. Saturate two or three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water for eight to 10 hours. Grind the seeds into a thin paste and then add two teaspoons of coconut oil to the paste.

Massage the paste into your hair and scalp. Leave it in for about 30 minutes and then  wash your hair with lukewarm water. If you use this treatment regularly once a week you will enjoy thicker hair and prevent dry scalp.

You can also use the water the fenugreek seeds soaked in overnight for a hair rinse. Do this once or twice a week. This will remove dandruff and encourage hair growth.

Indian Gooseberry to the Rescue    

The anti-inflammatory, antioxidants, antibacterial and exfoliating properties of these indian gooseberries can aid in accelerating hair growth and maintaining a healthy scalp. Mix one tablespoon of indian gooseberry or amla powder in two tablespoons of coconut oil. Heat the mixture until it boils. Strain the oil and massage it into your scalp before bedtime. In the morning shampoo your head as you normally do. Try this on a weekly basis for some good results.  

Another option is to mix ¼ cup of warm water into ½ cup of indian gooseberry let it sit for 10 minutes. Next, apply the paste into your head and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it out. Don’t shampoo your hair for a few hours after you apply this treatment. Repeat this process every few weeks. Did you know you can use indian gooseberry fruit and its extract for some dietary supplements for healthy hair.   

Castor Oil will Work too

Massaging your hair with cold-pressed castor oil into your scalp is one of the easiest ways to promote thicker hair. It has high viscosity which coats hair fully and protects against against fall hair. Let’s follow this treatment: Heat a mixture of equal parts of castor oil and coconut oil. You may choose to use castor oil strictly but it tends to be too thick when using it alone. Apply the mixture to your scalp and rub it  in circular motions.

Next, comb your hair to disperse the oil all over your hair and to remove tangles. Cover your hair with a towel moistened with water warm and leave it on for a minimum of one hour. Now, shampoo your hair as you usually do. Follow this routine once a week to enjoy rich,thick hair.

Aloe Vera it   

Aloe vera is strong for acquiring thick hair. It has very strong moisturizing qualities that will help restore  ph balance to the scalp. Extract gel from two aloe vera leaves and rub the gel into your scalp. Let the gel sit in your hair for 30 minutes then rinse your hair with lukewarm water. It’s suggested this procedure be used once or twice a week on a regular basis.

Try this option: Mix two teaspoons of coconut oil in fresh aloe vera gel applying this mixture to your scalp. Leave it in your hair for ½ hour before rinsing it out of your hair. Finally, shampoo your hair. Repeat this treatment once or twice a week.

Try Henna Leaves

Who has heard of using henna leaves to create thicker hair? It is a proven method to give you thicker, fuller hair. Henna applied naturally to the hair will offer other benefits as well. It will leave your hair richer in natural color, thicker, softer, and less prone to breakage. These are all signs of rich healthy hair. Follow these steps: Grind a handful of fresh Henna leaves in a little bit of water to make a fine paste. Let the paste sit for a solid two hours then apply it to your hair. Covering your hair with a shower cap, let the paste sit in your hair for a few hours then wash your hair thoroughly and shampoo it.

If you prefer not to use this method there is an alternative method that is using henna powder. Mix enough water in the henna powder to make a yogurt-like consistency. Or if you don’t want to use water try some green tea it will make for a better consistency. Keep the paste mixture aside overnight. In the morning, add one raw egg and two teaspoons of lemon juice to the solution. Massage it into your hair and leave it alone until it dries. Wash your hair thoroughly and shampoo it. Note: Be sure you use gloves when handling henna and use a hairbrush when you apply the paste to your hair. This will prevent staining. Take extreme precautions when using henna leave or henna powder treatments to thicken your hair.

You Can’t do without flaxseed

Flaxseed is very rich in omega-3 fatty acids and protein. It is a wonderful and natural way to create thick hair naturally. So, soak one-quarter cup of flaxseeds in water overnight. In the morning boil the flaxseeds in two cups of water over high heat while stirring intermittently. As soon as the flaxseed thickens to the consistency of jelly, turn off the heat and strain the gel. It’s recommended you add a few drops of essential oil to it. Let it cool down then use it in your hair as gel. Flaxseed gel especially works wonders for those who have curly or wavy hair. There two other flaxseed options you can use. Either eat flaxseeds or you can take flaxseed oil both will promote shinier and thicker hair.

Eat your Way to Thicker Hair   

This approach will be a little different because you will be eating foods that will help to give you thicker hair. Try some more milk,eggs, greek yogurt, (Greek yogurt has more protein than regular yogurt.) poultry,fatty fish, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and fresh green vegetables in your diet. Try this enhanced healthier diet and you will see results in your hair.

You don’t or can’t spend millions of dollars on treatments to make your hair thicker. Or you don’t want to use supplements. So what is the alternative? You can buy in your local salon hair conditioners and shampoos that will thicken, create volume, and texture to your hair. Use hair products and styling tools to also help to garner thicker hair.

Length Cuts can Change your Hair

This is one of the most straight-forward methods you can use to make your thin hair look thicker. It’s as simple as getting a haircut. If you wear long hair and it’s thin by nature. The weight of the length of your hair will make it look stringy and even thinner. So if you are willing cut your hair to  a medium or short length it will do wonders to make it look thick. This is a cost-effective method.

Tease your Way to Thicker Hair

This is another one of those appearance tricks. If your hair tends to fall flat you can make it look more voluminous. This is a very simple trick to do. Get a fine clean toothbrush  and do some strategic teasing at the roots. Your hair will look fuller and thicker in no time. The beauty of this trick is you will spend very little money on this method.

Other Creative Ways to have Thicker Hair

Orange Juice will do the trick. It is a nice smelling treatment as well. Other benefits are it will promote hair growth, stop dandruff and create thicker hair. Take one orange peel and all and put it into a food processor until you have pulp. Put the pulp in your hair and leave in for twenty minutes. Doing this once a week will garner thicker, fuller hair in only a few months. Another option is mix orange juice and apple puree together. This a good method to establish thicker hair naturally. Massage this mixture into your hair and scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Use this treatment once or twice a week and you will develop thicker hair. After the 30 minutes has passed rinse your hair thoroughly. You don’t have to shampoo it if you don’t want to.

But what you do want to do is purchase an eyeshadow brush and eyeshadow the same color as your hair. Color in your scalp and your hair will look fuller. The more of your scalp that shows the thinner your hair will look.
