This has to be the age-old question: Does that thick, brown, gooey peanut butter cause acne? Hopefully, for the millions who love peanut butter, the answer is no. Especially, for those who have acne-prone skin. The ones who just have to think about eating peanut butter and they will break out.
Some students were interviewed at Melbourne University, and they were asked if they really thought that peanut butter caused acne. The survey was taken in 2001, and 41% thought that dietary choices influenced acne proliferation. But this doesn’t answer the question if peanut butter causes acne or not. Additionally, science has not been able to link specific foods to acne breakouts. This research is ongoing and there have been no definitive results. There is solid evidence though that overall poor dietary choices will create a hormonal in balance that will eventually trigger acne.
