We love tea as a natural health & wellness sip of spirit (not to be confused with alcohol), and we especially love all of the benefits to be gained from its daily use. Tea is a great alternative to coffee because it is a stimulant that has the direct opposite effect of coffee. Rather than impeding the performance of your body, over the long run, by fueling it with toxins, tea has an antioxidant effect. Long term use of tea can help to improve the functioning of your immune system, and it’s especially good to use during a cleanse.
We also like caffeine free tea. This type is great because you can have it before bed to calm you and help you sleep better. All tea is great for improving your mood, and reducing stress; just the act of calmly sipping on something warm, is relaxing, all on its own. Teas are great to sip on at your desk while you’re working, to help keep you going, rather than eating at your desk (improper etiquette) or keeping a collage of snacks all over your desk. We like to have a warm cup or mug of tea close by, at all times, in the winter months because it keeps you warm. It’s also great when you are out walking, in colder weather, or on days spent window shopping because it warms your hands and heart – a good, little trick, if you forget your gloves, and there’s a bit of a chill in the air – Shopaholics and Chocoholics Unite!
For non-caffeinated tea, we recommend Honey Bush Tea, also known as Rooibos Tea. It is important to note that evidence about this tea as headache & allergy prevention is documented, but not strong.

Don’t Hide Behind the Honey Bush
Don’t get caught up in routine, and just drink your daily tea, like a robot, because you’re used to doing it. We also don’t recommend forcing yourself to do things, just because they’re good for you; that should never be your only reason. So, if you’re not one to sip on tea during the day or better yet, if you love tea and you can’t get enough of it! – We suggest getting creating and trying a few new things. It’s fun to experiment, and trying new things keeps you adventurous in spirit and young at heart.
Try using your tea as a broth, in which to prepare your rice! Here is a good recipe for a rice dish that you can easily prepare and serve with dinner. You will need to reserve about 1/5 hrs. of time for cooking and preparing, however, so plan accordingly.
Honey Bush Rice Recipe
– 2 Cups of Rice (any kind, brown, white, doesn’t matter)
– 1 Cup of Water
– 1 Cup of Honey Bush Tea (steeped)
– 1 Cup of Low Sodium Consomme Soup or Low Sodium Vegetable Broth
– 1/8 Cup Soy Sauce (you can use low sodium, if you like)
– 1 Package of Onion Soup Mix
– 1 Can of Mushrooms
– 1 Green Pepper (Chopped)
– 1 Cup Onion (Chopped)
Directions: Pour everything into a large casserole dish, mix the ingredients together, and cover to bake. Bake at 350 for about 1 hour or until all of the liquid is absorbed. Stir together, before serving.
Have an afternoon Tea Party!
We love this idea; you can either head out to a fancy restaurant that hosts afternoon tea, which is a really nice way to get together with friends, or you can have your very own afternoon tea, right from your home. We love all the pretty, little things they include at afternoon tea, like tea sandwiches and cute, baked, pretty things. It make for a really nice afternoon, spent in the company of friends – good chat, good tea, good desserts.
Here’s an idea to try. Serve these up with a pot of Honey Bush Tea, and get our your nicest tea cups – the presentation is what makes these little, afternoon soirees so special.
This recipe is super easy, and surprisingly pretty. You need to find yourself a beautiful serving tray, and arrange the tasty treats, in layers, for your guest to select from, whilst sipping their Teas. Make sure you have a mini muffin tin, and cute, dainty cupcake wrappers on hand, before getting started. You can find these at J.J.’s House!
Mini Jell-O Cupcakes Recipe
-1 Box White Cake Mix
-You’ll need 2 Eggs
-You’ll need Applesauce
-1 Container of Low fat Cool Whip
-2 (6 oz.) Packages Strawberry Jell-O
-2 Cups of Water
Directions: Prepare the cake batter, according to the directions on the box. However, instead of the eggs, use 2 egg whites. Instead of the Oil, use Applesauce. Sit your cupcake wrappers into your mini muffin tins – make sure your sizes match up, before buying your wrappers. Spoon the batter into the cups to fill them. Bake according to package directions.
After the cupcakes are out of the oven, and once they have cooled – Boil 2 cups of water, and pour it into a metal or glass bowl. Empty one package of Jell-O into it, and stir it until it dissolves. Using a fork, poke holes into the tops of the cupcakes, and spoon liquid Jell-O over the top of each cupcake. Wait until it’s full, meaning that the cake won’t absorb any more liquid.
Put the cupcakes in the fridge for about 30 min. to set.
Icing: Mix some of the Strawberry Jell-O powder from the second package into the Low Fat Cool Whip. You just want it to pick up the coloring, but you don’t want it getting too sweet. Add it in gradually, until it turn a pretty, pink, color – There’s your icing. Ice the tops of each mini cupcake, and you’re done.
Balance them beautiful onto a cascading or tiered serving tower.
