We must realize that mattress encasement are just like mattress covers. They may just have a different name. But they serve the same function and that is to protect the underlying mattress and it must be the right size of mattress encasement to fit the mattress. You better make sure you buy one that has enough depth to cover the mattress as well. Preferably the mattress encasement will tightly fit over the mattress. It would be nice if it had a removable cover that is machine washable and easy to remove. It should be able to prevent dust mites, bed bugs, and mold. It should allow air to free flow through it so the customer sleeping on the bed will not perspire which will make them overheat and sleep very uncomfortable.

SafeRest Premium Zippered Mattress Encasement – Lab Tested Bed Bug Proof, Dust Mite Proof and Waterproof
Benefits and Uses: The product is made of cotton and has been certified that bugs will enter it and leave again without biting the person sleeping. But what good is the mattress encasement if the bugs can get in initially? Are not they supposed to keep the bed bugs out? The mattress encasement comes with a 360-degree zipper closing that can be secured by a velcro strip. This will stop accidental opening if this is ever a problem. It will surround the mattress on all 6 sides and it will protect from allergens, mold, dust mites, and bed bugs, urine, and perspiration. It comes with a 10-year warranty which seems to be standard for the industry. In other words, the warranty is standard for the industry. The mattress encasement is hypoallergenic and the zipper teeth will prevent bed bugs from entering the mattress. The mattress encasement is noiseless as well.
Feedback: There have been over 2600 reviews written about the product so the market is familiar with this product. The first review was quite lengthy and irrelevant o the mattress encasement. The customer rambles on about how they have had bed bug infestations and how to get rid of them. The focus of the review should have focused on the mattress encasement not on how many bed bugs they had or how to get rid of them. The customer briefly mentioned they found bed bugs in the velcro strap that locked the zipper in place. The customer rated the product 4-stars without ever really talking about the mattress encasement and what benefits it offers. The client did not say what the drawbacks of the product were either. The review was off focused completely. I am not sure why the client even wrote the review.
The customer says the mattress encasement appears to be of a good quality. The issue the customer has is with the sizing features. The package says you can get it individual sizes but the description has the sizes in ranges. So the customer ordered it in the range that would fit their mattress but the fit was rather loose. The customer said they could have ordered a smaller size than they did. If the could have ordered a smaller size it would have fit the mattress tightly as the customer wanted it to. The customer rated the product 4-stars.
The customer bought a queen-sized mattress encasement a few years ago and it held up fine. The customer was told (at the time) to buy an encasement for the box spring to protect it from bed bug infestations. The customer bought a king-sized bed and went to move the old queen-sized mattress out of the bedroom. The customer noticed the encasement that was put on the box spring was shredded to pieces. This is because the box spring is very hard and it will shred the mattress encasement. The customer warns not to buy an encasement for the box spring for this will be a real waste of money. This is good advice written by the customer. The customer said if you get a bed bug infestation the encasement will protect the expensive mattress but if you get a bed bug infestation in the boxspring the encasement will be useless against the bugs.
The customer says this mattress encasement is not waterproof. The daughter had 2 accidents and the customer removed the mattress pad which was waterproof. The daughter had a small accident later and the customer found out the mattress encasement was not waterproof because the urine soaked right through the mattress encasement to the mattress. The customer said it was very labor intensive to clean up the mattress in the middle of the night. The customer rested the mattress encasement one-star. This is odd because you would think that a mattress encasement would naturally be waterproof. The customer complains that the mattress encasement had a bad chemical smell. The smell was so strong it was hard for the customer to get past. The customer claims they bought the same product a few years ago but it had no smell. Something about the mattress encasement has changed.
Oddly enough this customer says the waterproof aspect of this product works fine. The other customer said this same mattress encasement was not waterproof. This customer says it fit over the queen-size mattress and a 4-inch thick mattress protector but the customer washed the mattress encasement on delicate cycle. The zipper snagged on the material and the customer paid too much money for the mattress to wash it again. She was concerned if she washed it again it would be damaged even more. She paid a lot of money for the mattress and she did not want to take the chance of the zipper getting stuck again. The customer rated the product 3-stars and unless it was to prevent bed bug infestation or children wetting the mattress the custom.
The customer put many layers of protection with these mattress encasements in the hope the urine from their daughter would not reach the mattress. You see they bought her a queen-sized mattress in hopes it would last her for years. The urine soaked all the way the mattress so the mattress encasements did not stop the urine from soaking through to the mattress. The customer will buy rubber products for now into the urine will get absorbed. The customer will never buy an encasement again that is not rubber because rubber will absorb the urine. The customer rated the product one -star. The customer cannot be blamed.
Queen (9-12 in. Deep) SureGuard Mattress Encasement – 100% Waterproof, Bed Bug Proof, Hypoallergenic
Benefits and Uses: The product will protect the mattress on all 6 sides and it is waterproof. It will block water, liquids, perspiration, and stains from reaching the mattress. The zipper completely encompasses the encasement thus keeping out bugs and pests from entering the mattress. It will protect the mattress from dust mites, urine, stains, perspiration and other spills. It will wick away moisture keeping the mattress dry and it maintains the form of the mattress. It contains no flame retardants. The product can be machine washed and dry.
Feedback: The product has almost 3000 reviews written about it. Many customers have gone before you and they have tried the product. The customer says the mattress was bought after he read the positive and negative reviews about the product. In his mind, the positives outweigh the negatives so he bought the mattress. He has a mild allergy to dust mites so the encasement must keep them out. The setup was tricky for the customer and he is 6′ tall. He says if you are shorter than this you need to get help. So far the mattress is working well for the customer and he sees no reason why he should not give it 5-stars. After he uses it a bit he will update the review and tell all the positives and negatives of the product. At that time, he may or not change his star rating on the mattress encasement.
The customer is furious about the poor quality of the mattress encasement. The customer bought it for her son’s twin bed. She put the mattress encasement on the bed and her son had an accident. The consumer pulled off the mattress encasement and noticed the urine soaked all the way through to the new twin mattress. The encasement did not absorb any of the urine and it is not waterproof at all. The customer paid $40.00 for the product and it was a total waste of money. The customer does not write reviews normally but she felt compelled to write this review. She wanted to warn other parents not to buy this product because it is a total waste of money. She cannot return the product either. The customer rated the product one-star. Can you blame her? The customer adds that the product may be good for strictly encasement purposes but to stop urine flows from the children it is totally useless.
Another dissatisfied customer who spent extra on this mattress because they had bad experiences with other mattress protectors. They had a new mattress to protect. The child had an accident and the pee soaked through to the mattress. The customer asks the question “What good is this mattress protector if it is not waterproof? His point is well-made. The customer rated the product one star. This is the second customer who complained the product is totally not waterproof. Ironically, the product description boldly claims the mattress protector is 100% waterproof. But these two reviews say the product is totally not waterproof. The company needs to fix this problem or they will lose a lot of customers. Two new mattresses have been ruined because the product is not waterproof.
This does not reflect well on the company that they claim their mattress encasement is 100% waterproof. Two reviews say the mattress encasement is not waterproof at all. You Can’t argue with the experience of angry parents. The product costs $40.00 and for this price, the product should be waterproof. Either the company underestimated the waterproof design of the product or they engaged in a false advertisement campaign. Like the one customer asked what good is the mattress encasement if it will not absorb the urine before it reaches the mattress. 2 brand new mattresses were ruined because the product failed to absorb the urine.
At this point, the company cannot be trusted. If it was one review maybe the person could have received a defective mattress encasement but it was two reviews that reported the product was not waterproof. The company should replace the costs of the new but damaged mattresses. If the company wants to earn the trust of these customers this s the least they can do. As far as I know, the company did not respond to these negative reviews and this is not a good sign. It says by them not responding that they do not care that the customer’s ruined their mattresses and had negative experiences with their products.
Benefits and Uses: The company claims the product is 100% waterproof, dust mite proof, mold proof, and mildew proof. It is supposed to protect the bed on all 6 sides and it is hypoallergenic. Additionally, it is able to block off the box spring from bed bugs. But if the mattress encasement material is weak. The box spring will shred the mattress encasement and not only the box spring will be compromised but the mattress will be compromised as well. This is the same company who in earlier product descriptions claimed their product was 100% waterproof but two customers wrote contrary reviews to this claim. The customers said the urine soaked right through the mattress encasement and ruined new mattresses. This is box spring protection but if it did not protect the mattresses will it protect the boxspring? There is a strong doubt in my mind that the product will protect the box spring because it did so poorly in protecting the mattresses.
Feedback: The customer bought this and other pieces from this company to protect his bed. He was breaking out in hives and he tried everything under the sun to heal these hives. The customer vacuumed like a maniac the first week to pick up any dust mites. He thought it was dust mites that were causing his problems. The fitted the bed with these pieces and the mattress encasement caught bed bugs and he found out what his problem was. He says the product did what it said it would. But what if they spill on the product they will find it is not waterproof. As stated above the weakness of the company’s products are that they are not waterproof.
Benefits and Uses: The mattress is certified to be hypoallergenic, waterproof, and bug bed proof. The revolutionary technology will prevent odors from absorbing into the boxspring the company claims. It will give the boxspring lasting freshness keeping the boxspring smelling fresh for a long time to come. The company offers a lifetime warranty on the product.
Feedback: The customer says they have dust mite and they lived in a rental home. They cannot ask the owners to pay for a new relief system. I am not sure why they cannot ask the owners to buy this relief system? They incorporated other preventive measures including buying this product. It took 3 people to put this mattress encasement on a king-sized bed not because of the weight of the product but because of the volume of the product. The customer rated the product 5-stars but she did not say why she rated it 5-stars. This is essential information that needs to be included in the review. People do not know what the benefits of the product are in protecting against dust mites.
If this customer is right this is really bad. The customer unpacked the product and found a dead bed bug in the packaging and the mattress encasement was stained. The customer thinks the product was used, returned and re-packaged and sold as new again. This is a terrible business practice on the part of the company if this is true. This Is totally dishonest if this is the actual case. The customer rated the product one-star.
Benefits and Uses: The product is made of cotton and polyester. It is imported into the United States. The mattress encasement protects the mattress on all six sides. It blocks bed bugs, satins, and allergens. It was tested to confirm it would block these elements.
Feedback: The customer says this mattress encasement will not fit a modern day mattress because it is not deep enough. It may fit a mattress that is 5 or 6 inches deep the customer claims. The customer rated the product 3-stars.
This concludes the reviews of the best mattress encasement. Only a couple of the mattress encasement products made by the same company proved to be useless as far as being waterproof. One of the products the company made bold claims in the product description that the product is 100% waterproof. Unfortunately, the reviews contradicted this claim. Two customers wrote in separate reviews that urine soaked right through the mattress encasements and ruined brand-new mattresses. Please read through the reviews and see what you think of the mattress and box spring encasements reviewed.
