Best Mattress for Kids

(Last Updated On: September 2, 2018)

What is the ideal mattress for kids? A mattress that needs to prevent dust mites and bed bugs from nesting in the mattress. The mattress needs to be durable and strong to take all the jumping kids will engage in on a mattress. The mattress needs to be durable to take the abuse kids will put the mattress through. You know that kids grow fast and go through rapid growth spurts. So what does it mean to you as the parent? It means you need to buy a mattress that will accommodate the growth your children will go through. You do not want to be buying mattresses every couple of years because your babies, toddlers, or children outgrow the mattress. The bed should be able to regulate the body temperature so your kids will have a cool and restful night’s sleep. Obviously, you do not want a mattress that is highly combustible even though most if not all mattress manufacturers would not make flammable mattresses, especially for children.

Buy a mattress for the kids that will fit the budget if you have one. Another factor is you don’t want a mattress that will wear out in 6 months but one that will last at least 5 years. The company should ideally offer a 10-year warranty that is unlimited in what that warranty will cover. It should not be a warranty that is limited to poor workmanship or manufacturer’s defects. The company should allow a generous window to return the mattress in. Some mattress companies have such a short window to return the mattress in that you don’t even have a chance to return the mattress. Some mattress companies will not even take mattress returns which are wrong especially when customers are dishing out several hundreds of dollars for the mattress. You want to check reviews about children’s mattresses just you know what others consumers are saying about the product you may want to buy. Make sure you buy a children’s mattress from a company that is reputable and has a good customer service track record.

Benefits and Uses: Just pull it out and unroll it because it is a combination sleeping bag/mattress. It beats using an air mattress but it has the convenience of a sleeping bag. It comes with a waterproof terry cloth and it can be used by boys and girls. The only problem is that it may be on the expensive side-$100.00 dollars almost. It also looks like it may not be very durable and the materials it is made out of may wear out fast. A poll rated that a comfortable mattress is critical for a superior night of sleep and supposedly this mattress fits the bill. It conveniently can be carried on the child’s back and it has extra room for videos, iPad, clothing, toiletries, and clothing. It is convenient for camping, sleepovers or for unexpected guests you may drop in. You can only imagine the possibilities this mattress has. It is sized for your kids and it will resist dust mites, bacteria, mold, allergens and other harmful germs. It is hypoallergenic and it can even be used to watch home movies as well. The mattress is not advised to be used by children under 36 months old unless the children will be closely monitored while they sleep on the mattress. The company offers a one-year warranty which is very limiting and may be a problem especially if the mattress wears out after only one year.

Feedback: The young mother says this mattress is the best because they have a 4-year-old who is very active and dependent. The youngster will get up in the middle of the night and walks into the parent’s room. The little one wants to sleep with mommy and daddy which does not work. The bed’s not big enough to fit all three and it makes it very uncomfortable for involved. The problem is solved they just pull out this mattress and the child sleeps on it. The child is in mommy and daddy’s room. The 5-year-old takes it to the grandparent’s house to spend the night. The consumer’s only regret is that she did not buy two of them. The customer rated the product 5-stars and apparently the costly price tag did not bother the client. The mattress has many benefits but $100.00 dollars is too much to pay for it.

The customer raves about this mattress made for kids. The client is glad the company made a mattress for kids because it is like carrying a bed anywhere. Sleepovers and fort building just got a lot easier for the client. The mattress is ideal for camping and it can be carried anywhere the customer writes. The customer rated the product 5-stars. The customer also owns an adult version of the mattress along with the children’s version. The customer is gushing that the mattress arrived a day before the family trip was to be taken. The customer had not figured out sleeping arrangements for their tall 3-year-old son. They did not have to blow up an air mattress on the camping trip and the son. Better yet the mother did not have to piece together cushions to make a temporary bed for her son. The customer said the son could sleep with his cousins and the mattress is very portable. It can be carried anywhere and the customer gave the mattress a 5-star rating.

It can be carried anywhere and the customer gave the mattress a 5-star rating. It is also to store and carry around which the customer really likes. It can be strapped over the shoulder and carried and it is very lightweight. So far all of the reviews have been 5-stars which speaks to the quality of the mattress. The mattress had only 7 reviews written about it but all 7 reviews were 5-star ratings. It seems like the mattress is a solid and good-quality product.

Delta Children Twinkle Stars Fiber Core Crib and Toddler Mattress | Waterproof | Lightweight | GREENGUARD Gold Certified (Natural/Non-Toxic)

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B01GU9GI5A&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=balancemebeau 20&language=en US - Best Mattress for Kidsir?t=balancemebeau 20&language=en US&l=li3&o=1&a=B01GU9GI5A - Best Mattress for Kids

Benefits and Uses: The mattress is made of thermo-bonded polyester fiber that is lightweight. The mattress makes it very easy to change the young one on. The mattress is certified by a company that recognizes products that are safe for the environment and low in emissions. This mattress fits into these categories so the company recognized the product. It exceeds flame retardant, lead, flammability, and other hazardous standards. The mattress has a limited 7-year warranty which is a problem. It is only for 7 years when most mattress companies offer a 10-year warranty and the 7-year warranty is limited.

Feedback: The customer really likes this mattress for her 2-year-old to sleep in and the little one likes the mattress too. The mattress makes noise as the little one rolls over but he does not hear the noise because he is such a heavy sleeper. The mattress is what exactly what the mother expected. She is very pleased with the purchase. The customer rated the mattress 5-stars. This customer says the mattress is okay and she noticed many indentations where the bay had laid his head. Her baby is small, to begin with, but the mattress fits nicely into the crib. The client says the mattress is not good for everyday use and you get what you pay for. In other words, the client is saying it is a cheap mattress that is a poor-quality mattress. The customer rated the product 2-stars. Another dissatisfied customer with this mattress because the customer rated the product 2-stars. The customer has an 8-month old baby that is sleeping in the bed and the mattress developed indentations after 3 weeks. This happened to another customer who reviewed this mattress.

The customer likes the fact that the mattress has square corners because it fits the crib nicely and it has a waterproof covering. The client rated the mattress 5-stars but this is the extent of the review. This review gives us no details of why the customer liked the mattress so much. It is lacking in pertinent information about the benefits of the mattress and it really does not give the good selling points f the mattress. Why should anyone buy this mattress based on the information or lack of information found in this review? I would not be convinced to buy the mattress from reading this review. This is even more of a generic review because the client says nothing in it. The client writes that the mattress is built well and it is nice. Why is the mattress well-built and why is it nice? The customer gives no details of the benefits of the mattress and why the customer rated the product 4-stars. The review may as well not have been entered because it says absolutely nothing about the mattress. I know no more about the mattress after reading the review than before I read the review.

The customer said the mattress is very poor quality and it is way too hard for the baby to sleep on. The customer said they should have bought the more expensive mattress and the baby probably won’t sleep on this mattress. The customer rated the mattress 2-stars. The customer says the mattress is way to hard it is not just too firm but it is too hard. The child refuses to sleep on the mattress because it is too hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. They had to cut a piece of foam and fit it into the crib and then put the mattress under the foam for support. The customer writes they want a mattress that is firm but not to the point it is uncomfortable for her child to sleep on. The customer rated the mattress 3-stars which is above average. This is surprising the customer rated it this high because of the problems they had with the mattress. I would not rate the mattress 3-stars if it was so hard my child would not sleep on it because it is too uncomfortable.

This is not an encouraging review at all. The customer says the mattress is firm but it lost its shape after only 3 months of use. It had become concave in shape. This means the mattress has caved in and it sounds like the child cannot sleep on it anymore. The customer rated the product 3-stars which is too high. The mattress does not rate 3-stars if it concaved after only 3 months. The quality of this mattress is definitely in question. None of these negative reviews stated that the customers tried to return the mattresses so does this mean the company would not take the mattresses back? The company seems to be silent in the midst of these negative reviews. Two problems emerge from these negative reviews: the mattress loses it shape in a short period of time and it is way too firm for the little ones to sleep on.

INTEX Cozy Kidz Inflatable Waterproof Airbed

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B005OHF2FM&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=balancemebeau 20&language=en US - Best Mattress for Kidsir?t=balancemebeau 20&language=en US&l=li3&o=1&a=B005OHF2FM - Best Mattress for Kids

Benefits and Uses: The airbed has a flocked/waterproof top. It has assorted bright colors and the frocked surface is soft and comfortable. The mattress should not be used by children under 15 months old. The reality of drowning at this age is real. It also comes with a repair patch which is the same color as the mattress.

Feedback: The customer ordered 6 for the daughter’s sleepover. The airbed fit perfectly into the 6 little tents. The customer rated the mattresses 5-stars but the customer did not really detail the benefits of the airbeds. It is not stated if the airbeds are easily punctured or not. The airbed sounds like it really shouldn’t be used on a daily basis. The mattress is only $14.00 dollars. The client showed images of the airbeds inside the tents and in all honesty, the airbeds were way too long for the tents. They really did not fit the length of the tents very well.

The customer says the mattress comes with a regular air mattress valve and not a quarter-sized valve. The problem is that you have to squeeze the mattress to get the air out of it and deflating it is a hassle. If this does not bother you then the customer says buy away. The mattress will not contain a twin-sized sheet because it is too small. The customer says after a year of struggling to deflate the mattress they threw it away. The will just buy a twin-sized mattress with a bigger valve. The customer rated the mattress 3-stars which is generous after all the hassles the customer had with the mattress.

Benefits and Uses: The company offers an airtight lifetime warranty which is a big plus and a rare benefit. The mattress will fit in most cribs and it is an award-winning mattress. There are a lot of fakes out there that will try and replicate this authentic mattress. The company has been working with Amazon for over 10 years. The frocked top of the mattress will prevent the mattress from squeaking giving the toddler a peaceful night of sleep. Mom will have a peace of mind knowing her little one is sleeping soundly and safely. The mattress will inflate in 30 seconds with the handy pump. The toddler will feel safe sleeping on this mattress.

Best Mattress for Kids

Feedback: The mattress had over 1200 reviews written about it so it is a fairly popular product. The customer said the mattress had a terrible chemical smell. The client let it air out for two weeks and they even let it sit in the sun. The mattress never did lose the smell. The client needed a bed for the baby for their trip. They bought a second one and it had the smell as well but not as strong. The client decided to live with the smell but they want the company to address the issue. The customer does not like her baby sleeping on a mattress that smells. The client rated the mattress 3-stars.

Coleman Kids Air Mattress with Soft Plush Top | EasyStay Single-High Inflatable Air Bed, Twin

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B01BW8757O&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=balancemebeau 20&language=en US - Best Mattress for Kidsir?t=balancemebeau 20&language=en US&l=li3&o=1&a=B01BW8757O - Best Mattress for Kids

Benefits and Uses: The mattress has a strong coil construction for more comfort. The top creates a plush surface for the child to sleep on. It can be used for camping and it can be used indoors as well. The company recommends using a Coleman pump to inflate the mattress. Guess what? The mattress does not include the pump.

Feedback: The client’s 4-year old outgrew the other mattress so they bought this one for her. This one should last a few years and the little one loves the mattress. The customer rated the mattress 4-stars.

Conclusion:

We have reviewed some mattresses that were designed specifically for children to sleep on. Look through the list and pick out the mattress that will work for your child.
