Best Organic Crib Mattress Reviews

(Last Updated On: October 17, 2018)

If the crib is organic does this mean it is for babies have allergies and not other babies? Let’s hope not because this could be limited to customers in the marketplace. You could be cutting a large sector of the marketplace not including babies who do not have allergies. But then what if a baby is allergic to organic materials then where does that leave you? Surely, organic baby mattresses will be sold to the whole marketplace and not just a specific sector. If the organic baby mattress sells only to a small pocket of the marketplace well then they will really be hurting themselves economically. There are most likely are more sizes and types of organic mattresses on the marketplace than you can count. There is a baby organic mattress that will every need out there and they are fairly expensive to purchase this could be because of mattresses made of organic mattresses. They could cost anywhere from $100.00 dollars to almost $300.00 dollars. There are even organic toddler mattresses so there is something for everyone. Let’s get going and have a look at some of the organic crib mattresses.

Emily Crib Mattress, GOTS Organic Cotton and Natural Eco-Wool, Two-Sided, Made in USA by My Green Mattress

Benefits and Uses: The crib mattress is green GREENGUARD gold certified whatever that is supposed to mean. It could be some green organization’s certification but I am speculating at this point. The mattress is hand-made from 100% cotton and the cover is made of 100% eco-friendly quilt material. The mattresses made in La Grange, Illinois with pride. The mattress contains polyurethane foams if it was it would not be an organic mattress. GOTS certified organic cotton will give the baby a solid night’s sleep or as the company puts it “a natural night of sleep” but isn’t every night of sleep a natural night of sleep. Just because the baby sleeps on an organic mattress does not mean he will have any more of a natural night of sleep than a regular mattress would provide. The mattress does have a 150 heavy duty innerspring. The mattress has a 2-sided design so if baby wets on one-side you can flip it over to the dry side. It will give the mattress a longer life. UL laboratories tested it to be free of lead. It passed a flammability test as well and the standard is CFR 1633, 1632.

Feedback: The customer says they searched high and low for a purely organic mattress and they found that purely organic mattress when they found this one. The customer claims that a lot of mattress companies claim their mattresses are organic even though they will contain all kinds of harmful materials. The customer can not prove such a sweeping generalization. It is doubtful the mattress companies would lie about their mattresses being organic if they really weren’t organic. They could get in a lot of trouble for false advertising. The customer says the company should have more recognition so their products will not be so hard to find. The customer says she read some reviews that customers wrote the mattress really smelled bad. The customer said they could only smell a farm smell which is better than the mattress outgassing. She bought two for her two little boys. The mattress is soft but not too hard so so there is a solid balance. The customer says the mattress is not too soft so the kids will not get SIDS. The customer wrote that both boys slept very well on the mattress. The youngest started reverting back to his younger days. He would not sleep through the night walking around every 2 hours. He now sleeps through the night and he wakes up a little later than he used to since he slept on this mattress. The customer ordered the mattresses online and they came about 4 days later which impressed the customer. The customer says the mattresses were made near the date she ordered them and she liked this. I do not know if this was a coincidence that the company made them near the order date intentionally. But how would the company know when to make the mattresses ahead of time? The customer ordered the mattresses and the company sent her a personal email 22 minutes after she ordered the mattresses. She says it was a personal message and she loves the mattresses. She says the mattresses are really organic. The customer rated the mattresses 5-stars.

This customer says the mattresses is good quality, eco-friendly, and made in the United States. The mattress was a little softer than the customer would have liked. The customer thinks the mattress will be ok for the baby when he can actually sleep on it. The mattress stinks the room stinks the bed stinks and the mother is getting a headache from the bad smell. The customer aired out the bed for 4 days and it still stinks. The customer put the baby in the bed and it smelled so bad the baby woke up every hour and he cried all night long. The mother put the baby back in the bassinet and he was fine. She put him on the brother’s mattress and he was fine. The mattress did not have a chemical smell but it smelled really bad. The customer says it will air out eventually but it is a drag that it is taking so long to air out the mattress. The customer writes you would think for a $250.00 mattress that the company would air the mattress out before they shipped it. It should not be such a high maintenance mattress. The mattress should not take so long to air out. For an organic mattress, it should not smell that bad in the first place.

Really think about it the mattress costs $250.00 dollars and the customer has aired it out for 4 days and it still stinks. The other customer says it just had a barn smell and it was not that bad. I would say if the baby cannot sleep on the mattress and he is crying because of the smell that is pretty bad. The customer was getting a headache and the mattress stunk out the whole room that is way more than just a barn smell.

Here we go again, another customer complaining about the horrible smell of this mattress. The customer said the mattress stunk and she attempted to put her baby on the mattress. The bay slept fine on the old mattress all the way through the night. The baby was put on this mattress and she slept off and on through the night. She would wake up crying because the smell was so bad from the mattress. The mother picked up the baby and the baby smelled like the mattress and of course, the mother felt bad for the baby. The smell was so bad the mother took the mattress out of the crib and put it in storage. She put the baby’s old mattress back on the crib. The mother said the smell had finally (for the most part) dissipated. She says she will not buy this mattress again and it cost a big chunk of money. You would think the company would find a way to resolve the stink problem and air them out before they shipped them. The customer should not be left with the burden of airing out the mattress. The customer upgraded the rating from one-star to four stars because it was a quality mattress. The client is right the company needs to address the smell issue.

This is odd because this customer says the mattress arrived in good condition and the manufacturing date was within days of the mattress being ordered. The customer says they like that a small company makes the mattress and it is not mass produced. The mattress has some strong coils and it is soft enough for baby to sleep on. It is soft to the touch and it is not too firm. The customer stuck their nose into the mattress and she could breathe so she feels confident the baby can sleep on the mattress and be able to breathe. She says she could not smell any bad odors. How could she not smell any odors when the other client said the mattress had a horrendous smell. The customer said she read mixed reviews about the smell of the mattress. Apparently, the customer did not smell the bad odor other customer complained about. It is strange the client says the mattress has no smell. The customer rated the product 5-stars.

The customer bought this mattress for the coming grandchild. They did some serious research before they decided on this particular mattress. The customer looked at other mattresses but did not because supposedly they used harmful chemicals in their manufacturing processes. They talked to the owner of the company who answered all their questions. The customer said it was customer service like in the old days. The customer rated the mattress 5-stars and they said nothing about the mattress smelling bad. This customer is sensitive to chemicals so they have been eyeing the company for a while. This customer did extensive research before choosing this mattress and they say the company’s customer service is excellent. The customer has a newborn son and she has a peace of mind that he will be sleeping on a good mattress. But what about the smell? The stink from the mattress was so bad according to the other clients their babies could not sleep. The customer rated the mattress 5-stars.

Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Classic Crib Mattress

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B00TU0T0PM&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=balancemebeau 20&language=en US - Best Organic Crib Mattress Reviewsir?t=balancemebeau 20&language=en US&l=li3&o=1&a=B00TU0T0PM - Best Organic Crib Mattress Reviews

Benefits and Uses: This mattress is very expensive for a crib mattress it is almost $260.00 dollars. It is made of a food-grade polyethylene waterproofing made from GMO plants which really does not sound safe. The mattress is covered by a patent and other patents are pending. The mattress has reinforced edges and square corners to fit standard-sized crib mattresses. The mattress is an allergy-friendly design and it is made of no harmful chemicals. The mattress is made of a combination of American and imported fabrics and components. The mattress has a limited lifetime warranty which could be a problem. It meets the standards of one organization and it meets or exceeds the standards of two other organizations.

Feedback: The customer says this is the only fully organic mattress on the market. I find this hard to believe because a customer in another review said this company made a mattress that contained harmful materials. The customer says the mattress makes a scratching noise when the baby moves. The baby has peed and pooped on the mattress a lot but the mattress cleans up nicely. The customer wrongly says that the fact that the mattress is organically made is more important than the comfort of the baby. The baby should be comfortable sleeping on the mattress and this should be the priority not that the mattress is organically made. The customer warns the mattress is very firm but the baby can still sleep comfortably on it. The customer says the mattress gives her peace of mind because the baby is sleeping comfortably on this mattress. The customer says this is the third mattress from this company she has bought. The first two models were different but the first one had to be returned because the newborn caused a sinkhole to form in the mattress after only a week. They tried flipping the mattress, rotating the mattress, and putting the newborn in different places on the mattress but nothing worked. The second model was a little better but not much as it to developed a sinkhole. The toddler sleeping on the crib does not care so the mattress was kept. The customer bought the third mattress for the second child and it was more expensive than the two previous models. It too developed a sinkhole and the customer was not really happy. The customer says the company makes these expensive mattresses that do not hold up. The customer says the sinkhole is a big deal because the baby’s body is not even with the head. The body is in the sinkhole. This will increase reflux, affect the digestion, and it could eventually affect the baby’s spine and posture.

Colgate Eco Classica III Dual firmness Eco-Friendlier Crib mattress, Organic Cotton Cover

Benefits and Uses: This is a standard orthopedic designed mattress that is 6 inches thick. It will fit standard size cribs and toddler beds. I wonder if this mattress is too small for toddler beds despite what the company says. The mattress is GreenGuard and children certified and it passes the standards of all air quality controls and 10,000 volatile organic compounds. This means the mattress contains none of these volatile organic compounds. The dual firmness will offer support for infants and support and comfortability for toddlers. The mattress is hypoallergenic and free of phthalates (salts or ester of phthalic acid) which is very good for the safety of the baby and the toddler [1].

Feedback: The customer said the little one slept for 12 hours the first night on the mattress. For the last month, she has been sleeping for at least 9 hours and it is working very well for the little one. The customer did a lot of research on mattresses and she did not realize there were so many crib mattresses on the market. She had to filter through all the environmental hazards that could hurt her baby. She decided on this mattress because it was reasonably priced. The mattress came easily out of the shipping package and it had no smell. It was easy to set up/ The customer rated the mattress 5-stars.

This is a to the point review but it does not say anything.

Feedback: The customer bought two of the mattresses one for the 4 month old and one for the 20 month old. The toddler transitioned nicely on the mattress from the crib to a toddler bed. The 4 month old is sleeping through the night on the mattress and the customer rested the mattress 5-stars.

Conclusion:

Here you have a list of reviews on some of the best organic crib mattresses on the market today. The mattresses are very expensive for crib mattresses. One of the mattresses had serious odor issues which should not have existed for a mattress that costs $250.00 dollars. Another customer complained that they bought three mattresses that were different models but they developed sinkholes within weeks of the purchase of the mattresses. These mattresses were expensive as well. Look through the reviews and pick the best crib mattress for your little one.
