Reduce back and neck pains
By using essential oils such as peppermint, ginger and cypress you can combine with coconut oil to create a perfect deep penetrating rub. Simply use as a massage oil on the area affected when pain begins to spike, and wash away with a damp cloth or take a shower.
Kick the cold and flu symptoms faster
To help treat cold and flu symptoms try taking a few drops of oregano oil and frankincense a few times daily until you feel better.
Rub lavender oil into your wrists and palms, inhaling deeply each time you feel allergy symptoms arising.
Reduce and improve pregnancy morning sickness.
Inhale either orange, lemon or ginger oil each time you begin to suffer from morning sickness. The best way to keep the scent around you is to add a few drops into a handkerchief and carry it round with your in the mornings.
Boost the immune system
To boost your immune system simply add one drop of oregano oil to coconut or olive oil and rub onto the bottom of your feet each day, either in the mornings or before bed.
Muscle rub lotions
Mix eucalyptus oil with wintergreen oil to an unscented lotion and apply to any aching muscles.
Lose weight quicker
Use essential oils as daily supplements to curb appetite. Try a mix of grapefruit, ginger and cinnamon oil.

Or you can simply use any one of those three oils and directly rub into the area that is painful for you with period cramping.
Use three drops of tea tree oil and 5 drops of coconut oil, mix the two together and use topically onto the affected area.
Arthritis relief for chronic sufferers
Massage essential oils onto the areas suffering from arthritis.
Curb food cravings
Inhale cinnamon oil to help curb food cravings, as well as improve blood sugar levels in the body.
Add around 10-15 drops of grapefruit essential oil, or alternatively eucalyptus oil, to a hot bath.
Eczema and psoriasis creams
Mix a few drops of lavender oil with shea butter and apply to the damaged skin and affected area.
To reduce your fever add a small amount of peppermint oil and lavender oil to a warm cloth and pat your body down all over -especially on your forehead.

Run a warm bath and add a few drops of juniper berry, cedarwood and rosemary to improve feelings and help return to a normal functioning.

-we’re not so sure on the effectiveness of this one, so use with caution!
Note: do not apply these oils onto open wounds and broken skin.

Eucalyptus oil is known for it’s strong ability in opening the airways and clearing the nasal passages of blockages.
Apply either lavender oil or peppermint oil to the temples and rub for a few minutes.
Use in homemade toothpastes
To create a homemade toothpaste mix together peppermint oil, sea salt, baking soda and xylitol.
Relieve nausea feelings
Breathe in either lavender, ginger or peppermint oils.
Treat dry and cracked soles
Mix lavender oil with coconut oil and massage into your dry and cracked soles twice per day, once in the morning and once before bed.
Helps reduce oily hair
Using ylang ylang, lime and rosemary oil you can create a hair mask to use for roughly 10-15 minutes before showering and shampooing your hair.
Lighten and fade age/ brown spots
Applying frankincense on brown spots should improve both age spots and brown spots.
Can be used as a natural skin toner
Geranium, water and lavender can create the perfect skin toner to use before applying your daily moisturiser.
Using yoghurt, patchouli oil, cornmeal and lavender oil you can create a effective, but gently on the skin, facial scrub which smells absolutely beautiful!
(Patchouli is my favourite essential oil of all for smell!)
Fade stretch marks
Myrrh and grapefruit essential oil should help to fade and reduce stretch marks when applied topically.
Massage a mix of both rosemary and lavender oil into your scalp to improve blood flow, while curing excessive dandruff.
Deep hair conditioner
By using 10 drops of rosewood, 3 drops of sandalwood and lavender to an unscented oil you can create a fantastic deep hair conditioner -leaving on for 20 minutes.
Alternatively to this method you can add both rosewood and lavender to your normal condition and allow to sit on your hair overnight, using a shower cap to hold your hair in one place while protecting your pillow.
Homemade teeth whitener
Use lemon oil and fresh strawberries to rub on your teeth.
Prevents as well as reduces wrinkles for the user
Add a few drops of geranium, sandalwood and lavender to an unscented lotion and use on the areas which concern you most.
Strengthen and improve nails condition
Using myrrh, lemon essential oil and vitamin e oil to improve nail condition and strengthen them to avoid broken nails in the future.
Thicken the hair strands
To thicken your individual hair strands, as well as adding volume to the hair, try adding rosemary oil to your shampoo.
Treat an itchy scalp
Use cedar wood or basil essential oil to add to your shampoo, reducing itchiness.
Use as a body spray
Add a small amount of your favourite smelling essential oil to 22 ml of water and place in a spray bottle.
Use in a sugar scrub
Mix a few drops of almond oil, an essential oil of your choice and sugar together to make the perfect sugar scrub. Use on the lips mainly to plump and remove dry and dead skin cells.
Create a homemade deodorant
You can use essential oils to create homemade deodorants.
Mix a homemade shampoo
Mix 2-3 drops of lavender oil, rosemary oil, coconut milk and a small amount of aloe vera gel. Use this shampoo like you would a regular store bought one.
Freshen your breath
Use peppermint oil to freshen your breathe.
Use to treat acne in a face wash
To treat acne you can create a homemade face wash, including tea tree oil and raw honey.
Using 2-3 drops of jasmine essential oil on your wrist, chest and wherever else you like to apply your perfume. Many essential oils can be applied topically to your skin as a perfume.
Reduces appearance of both cellulite and varicose veins
Grapefruit essential oil and coconut oil should help to reduce signs of cellulite and varicose veins.
To create a minty hot chocolate
Add 1-2 drops of peppermint oil to your hot chocolate to create a minty chocolatey treat.

Get rid of foul shoe smells
To freshen up poor smelling shoes you can add a few drops of lemon and a few drops of peppermint oil into the soles, where your feet would normally go.
Create a mint tea
Add a few drops of peppermint oil to your favourite herbal tea.
Eliminate smoke smells in the air
Add essential oils and water into a spray bottle and use around the house, or in areas which smell of smoke.
Detoxifying the air
By adding peppermint and eucalyptus oil to a gallon of paint you can diffuse the fumes in the air.
Use as a bathroom freshener
Place a cotton ball soaked in lemon oil somewhere within your bathroom to combat bad smells.
Purify the fridge
To freshen up your fridge when cleaning it out, add a few drops of lemon oil or lime oil to the water you are using to rinse.

Place your favourite oils onto your firewood around an hour before lighting the fire.
