Getting Chubby Cheeks Naturally Is Easier Than You Think

(Last Updated On: October 6, 2018)

For many women, having chubby cheeks are a dreadful thing. After all, a rounded face has always been deemed unattractive, especially for women. There are many reasons that explain why some people have plumper faces. These could include the following:

  • Face fat – this is often the main reason some people have chubbier faces than others even if they are not overweight. There are people who naturally collect fat in their cheeks or chin.
  • Hypothyroidism – some people may have puffier faces because of hypothyroidism or lace of thyroid hormones in their body, resulting in rapid weight gain and bloated faces.
  • Dehydration – if the body is dehydrated, it tends to retain as much water as possible. One of the areas that water is stored in the face.
  • Drinking alcohol – regardless of the type of alcoholic drink you consume, alcohol makes your face look chubbier. This is because these kinds of beverages make you dehydrated, making your face look rounder.
  • Being overweight – of course, if you have gained excess weight over the years, your face will normally look fluffier because of the fats stored in your face and cheeks.
  • Poor diet – if your diet lacks vitamin A and C and beta-carotene, this could result in a rounder face. Similarly, foods rich in carbohydrates, fats, and sodium could also cause your cheeks to bloat.
  • Certain medications – there are some medications that tend to cause temporary redness and puffiness of the face.
  • Stress – when you are always sleep deprived, you become stressed out, making your face look tired, saggy and chubby.
  • Allergic reactions – allergic reactions to insect bites, pollen, dust, certain foods and the like could also cause your face to swell.

While a lot of women do not like to have a round face, there are those who want to have chubbier cheeks because they want to look healthier and more youthful just like famous celebrities, like Selena Gomez, Miranda Kerr, Drew Barrymore, Kelly Osbourne, and Jennifer Lawrence. Thankfully, there are natural ways to get a plumper face without gaining weight or going under the knife. While using injectable fillers or a cosmetic surgery may be the quickest way to plumping your cheeks, these options may not necessarily be the safest. They’re also quite expensive, especially when it comes to maintenance. Plus, they don’t guarantee lasting results. So, if you want to ensure that there are no harmful side effects, it’s best to use homemade solutions instead.

Getting Chubbier Cheeks the Natural Way

This is because olive oil has been proven for helping build skin fat.

  • Milk

It has always been a fact that milk is a complete diet because it has the right amount of vitamins, minerals, and proteins. This is why it’s perfect if you’re not consuming a lot of nutritious foods on a daily basis. Drink two glasses of milk every day for three months to get a fluffier face the natural way. Alternatively, you can massage your cheeks with cold milk for 15 minutes, leaving it on for 5 minutes. After that, rinse off with warm water.

  • Aloe Vera

The nutrients in the aloe vera gel can help you get chubbier cheeks in just a week. All you need is to rub the gel directly on your skin using your fingertips in a circular motion. Continue to massage your face for 20 to 30 minutes. Do this two to three times a day for best results.

  • Honey

Honey is actually a safe and effective solution to achieving those Selena Gomez-like cheeks. It has antioxidants and has moisturizing agents that make your skin look healthier and plumper. To use honey to get chubby cheeks, first, you need to blend some papaya pieces and mix it with a teaspoon of honey. After blending both ingredients well, apply the mixture directly on your cheeks for 10 minutes. Then, wash with lukewarm water. Do these steps at least once every morning.

  • Carb-rich Foods

These include rice, bread, and pasta. They are great foods for helping you plump up your cheeks in no time. Plus, eating carb-rich foods would give more energy.

  • Rosewater and Glycerin

Both rosewater and glycerin are believed to have wonderful benefits on your skin, thanks to their moisturizing properties. By mixing both ingredients together and rubbing the mixture on your cheeks before you sleep, your skin will be kept hydrated and will look fluffier after doing this process on a regular basis. Be sure to leave the solution on your face overnight and rinsing it off with lukewarm water the following morning.

  • Fenugreek

Fenugreek is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, helping your body fight free radical damage while keeping your skin smooth and healthy. To use fenugreek, make a thick paste of fenugreek powder and water. Mix well and apply on your cheeks, massaging gently. Leave it on your face for 10 to 15 minutes, or until it is completely absorbed by your skin. Rinse it off with warm water. Use this one or twice a day for excellent results.

  • Apple Pulp

Yup, apple can also help you get those plump, rosy cheeks. This is because it is rich in nutrients that make your skin healthy. This means that the saying “an apple a day keeps your doctor away” is indeed true. To use this home remedy, boil an apple and smash it to get a pulp. Let it cool and apply on your face first thing in the morning. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat for a few days or until you feel the difference in your face.

Then, apply the mixture all over your face, spreading evenly. It’s also advisable to do this before taking a shower. Keep it on for 15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water.

  • Shea butter

Shea Butter

Because shea butter has a high fatty acid content, as well as vitamin E, which helps tighten and moisturize the skin, this plant extract is also an effective treatment to help you get fuller cheeks.

Apply shea butter directly on your face. Rub it in an upward motion with your fingertips for five to eight minutes. Then, leave it on for 30 minutes. Clean your face with a clean cotton.

Aside from these home remedies, there are other things you can do to attain healthy-looking cheeks.

Other Natural Ways to Get a Fuller Face

Do facial yoga.

Yoga not only improves your breathing and blood circulation but also helps you getting chubbier cheeks. This is because certain yoga poses help in stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which are useful in making your face look fuller.

One facial yoga you can do is to sit on a chair, keeping your back straight. Open your mouth, making sure that the upper and lower lips are curled that they cover the front of your teeth. Then, pull the corners of your mouth closer to the molar teeth. While doing this, move your chin forward. Keep this position for at least 30 seconds. Then, come to a relaxed position.

Avoid smoking and drinking.

Smoking and drinking can cause much damage to your skin and to your overall health. It can dull your skin and ruin its elasticity. So, avoid such vices if you want to get plumper cheeks.

Keep a well-balanced diet.

Whatever you eat shows on your skin. So, if you keep eating junk or fatty food, your skin will most likely be the first to suffer the consequences. So, if you want healthy-looking cheeks, consume only foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Also, go for foods that are rich in good fats, including oats, milk, cheese, nuts and avocados.

Drink lots of water.

Make sure you drink at least eight glasses of water every day to keep your skin hydrated. By doing so, your skin will look younger, fresher and fuller.

Blow balloons.

Now, this may sound ridiculous. But it’s actually one of the most effective ways to make your face appear fuller. When you blow into a balloon with your mouth, hold the position for about a minute. Then, let the air out of your mouth. Do this five to six times a day for best results.

Taking care of your cheeks

Once you achieve those plump cheeks you’ve always been wishing for, you’ll have to take care of them to ensure they’ll stay that way forever. Take a look at these cheeks plumping tips.

  • For soft cheeks

When your skin lacks moisture, it becomes dry and dull, so you will need to nourish and moisturize it. Avoid using harsh soaps on your face. Choose a good facial wash or better yet, use a natural treatment to clean and moisturize your face. When using essential oils or homemade creams, massage your face gently in circular motions to ensure that the solution is properly absorbed by your skin. Also, do it twice a day for best results.

  • For clear cheeks

Your cheeks are the number one part of your body that’s prone to acne. If you have a few pimples on your face, be sure not to touch them, especially if your hands are dirty, as this can make the condition worse. If you have acne, skin pigmentation and other diseases, use a recommended topical cream or natural treatments. But be sure to seek professional advice from your doctor or dermatologist to ensure that what you’re using is safe and effective. It’s also recommended to exfoliate your face once or twice a week for clearer skin.

  • For healthy-looking cheeks

Chubby cheeks are a sign of good health, especially if they’re soft, smooth and bright. To maintain healthy cheeks, it’s important to follow a clean lifestyle and well-balanced diet. You should also drink lots of water, or at least two liters to get rid of harmful toxins inside your body. Eat leafy green vegetables and lots of fruit to keep your skin’s natural glow. Also, do cheek exercises to keep them plump and soft.

Whether you have fluffy cheeks or not, what matters is how you take care of your skin. So, eat right and exercise to keep your face and whole body healthy.
