Once the pores are cleansed cold pressed avocado oil limits the inflammations caused by the sebaceous gland. This gland produces sebum oil which is the culprit that produces those red, itchy pimples. Eternal Youth and Sunscreen properties found in Avocado Oil

Avocado Oil

A little known fact about avocado oil is that it can fight aging characteristics in the skin. What do you mean avocado oil can make me look like I’m five years old again? Not really but it can slow down the aging process in the skin. Research has shown that avocado oil fights free radicals because of its high anti-aging properties. It’s expected that in the future avocado oil will be used for anti-aging treatments on a wider scale. The oil works by penetrating deep into the skin even while being attacked by free radicals.

Mitochondria in the cells produce the  cell’s energy  from nutrients. Sometimes this process gets interrupted and the cells release unstable chemicals which can influence other cell components. Avocado oil reverses this process in mitochondria  and helps the process produce energy the correct way. This still takes place even when the mitochondria is being assaulted by free radicals.

Did you know that avocado oil acts like a sunscreen for your skin? No one takes chances when it comes to protecting their skin color. In fact, people will go to great extremes to protect their natural skin color. Sun screen products do a healthy business worldwide. There are natural oils that act very well as sunscreen lotions and avocado oil falls into this category. Yes, as strange as it may sound avocado oil is a very effective sunscreen. Natural oils are considered to be better sun blockers than artificially made products. Their ingredients prevent the skin from changing to a darker color. They have a healthy portion of mono-saturated fats and these form a protective layer all over the skin. This protects the skin from the being exposed to the sun. Avocado oil has all these features and then some.

A deep penetrator and money saver too

Avocado oil is believed to penetrate deep through the epidermis into the dermis layer of the skin which most oils and moisturizers don’t. It can even heal scarring on the skin. The beauty of avocado oil is that it can save you money over store bought moisturizers.

What if one day you woke up and heard of a moisturizer that was gentle on your skin and contained all natural ingredients? This oil was also good to eat as a salad dressing. It was also reported that people were getting great results on their skin from using this product. It is also noted this natural moisturizing oil didn’t contain any petrochemical derived additives like: propylene glycol, cyclomethicone,  petrolatum and methylparaben. These chemicals sound like petroleum products you would put into your car. They don’t sound like chemicals you would want to massage into your skin. These ingredients could be harmful to the skin but the manufacturers keep adding them to their moisturizing products.

These chemically based products are much more expensive to use as well. You would think this type of natural based oil would be wonderful to use. Well this type of product is available and it’s called avocado oil. Are you surprised? Other great features of avocado oil are it is cheaper than the chemically-based moisturizers and it works better and often faster than the inorganic moisturizers.

One recipient reported she had awesome results on her skin using avocado oil. She noticed the pores on her nose were reduced in size and the redness on her skin had disappeared. She noted the lines on her forehead had decreased from nightly applications of avocado oil.

Applying avocado oil to your skin for the best results

Applying avocado oil to your skin

Avocado oil can be applied like any other natural moisturizer. Either use a cotton wool pad or very clean fingers to apply the oil to your face. It’s best if your face is a little damp then the oil will spread easier through the skin. You also need to be sure your face is washed well and free from any obstacles like dirt clogging your pores. The best time to use it is after you get directly out of the shower or in the evening when you apply your beauty treatment to your skin.

You don’t need a lot of oil on your face. A few dabs on your cheeks and forehead will do the trick. Remember, avocado oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, phytosterols, vitamin E, and other antioxidants. These ingredients give avocado oil a very thick consistency. The end result is a little will go a long way, In this way you may use the oil much longer than other inorganic moisturizers

It also doesn’t absorb as fast as other moisturizers. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the oil to completely absorb into the facial skin. If this bothers you simply get a washcloth and wipe off the excess oil. But before you do this let it penetrate into your skin for a few minutes. Or if you wipe it away too quickly it will have no effect on your skin. Patience here will greatly pay off.

You may use it as a daytime moisturizer when you aren’t running out of the house to satisfy work schedules. Obviously, on weekend or holidays would be the ideal time. But because the avocado oil is so thick it would be better to apply it as a nightly moisturizer right before going to bed. It has been suggested to mix avocado oil with almond oil and apply this mixture to the facial skin. The only problem is almond oil takes a long time to absorb into the skin. This half and half mixture may be beneficial to use right before you retire to bed. Mixing other oils in halves with avocado oil have been suggested to use as well.

Make sure you look for cold pressed avocado oil and not the cheaper refined oils, Why? Avocado oil will produce more of the restorative qualities in skin than just being used for the moisturizing effects.  The minimal cold pressed avocado oil preserves more of the important plant sterols, chlorophyll, vitamin E, and other antioxidants. This will have a greater effect on restoring the skin because the restorative properties of the avocado oil will be working in a fuller capacity. This preservation isn’t found in other natural moisturizing oils or the cheaper chemically-based moisturizing creams. You just cannot lose using cold pressed avocado oil in your skin beauty routine.

So I think we answered the original challenge offered in the title of the article. “ Can avocado oil benefit the skin?” Avocado oil is one of the best if not the best natural moisturizing oil you can apply to your face.

Let’s Wrap it up

The question as to whether avocado oil can benefit skin or not has been sufficiently answered. It is a great skin moisturizer that unclogs the skin pores and reduces the size of skin pores.Smaller-sized skin pores will limit the amount of dirt and oils that can accumulate in them. Besides, avocado oil does an awesome job of keeping skin pores clean.

Avocado oil can reduce redness and inflammation on the skin, it helps reverse the aging process including wrinkles in the skin and it helps to reduce and kill the causes behind acne and red, itchy pimples. It has wonderful anti-aging properties that keep the skin looking rejuvenated and smooth. It wouldn’t be inaccurate to say if you follow the applications we discussed in this article that you could take years off your appearance. But, be warned it won’t happen overnight. It does work faster than most natural oils in removing the effects of aging but it will still take time.

Be encouraged though because this oil works better than most natural oils in improving the tone of skin. It removes the damaging effects free radicals will have on skin if they are left unchecked. Remember, that avocado oil prevents your skin from darkening due to sun exposure. It also helps to fight various skin diseases. So, I hope you are convinced that avocado oil will benefit your skin. Why don’t you reward yourself and start applying avocado oil to your skin on a daily basis?
